Assist Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown

On Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2343 hours the station along with the Little Creek Fire Company were alerted to assist the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown with HAZMAT units at a commercial structure fire at the Johnson Control facility in Middletown. Shortly after Rescue 53 made the response with four personnel a 2nd alarm assignment was dispatched. While responding, a 3rd alarm assignment was added to the response prompting the additional resources from Kent County to be dispatched to assist. Rescue 53 assisted with decontamination operations in conjunction with other HAZMAT units on scene. Rescue 53 operated for approximately two hours before clearing and returning to quarters.
